The forging industry has spent thousands of years adapting to changing environments in its mission to supply quality products to the industries it serves. In these more challenging financial environments, in which pensions are hard to come by and training new employees comes at such a high cost, it is apparent that we need to do more to retain good talent.
With the new year freshly underway, it seems a good time to gaze in the crystal ball and consider what trends will likely impact the climate for manufacturing in the U.S. and abroad during this year.

On Feb. 8, 2019, Arconic Inc. announced its decision to split itself into two separate companies: Engineered Products & Forgings and Global Rolled Products (GRP). The two businesses will focus on, respectively, the production of finished parts and the production of sheet.
