Sixteen 2017 Safety Award winners were announced by FIA at the Fall Meeting. The 16 award winners represent the top-performing facilities in FIA’s 2017 Occupational Injury & Illness Survey, which collected data for several safety categories. First-place winners include FRISA Forjados, American Axle Manufacturing and Trenton Forging Co. The complete list of 2017 FIA Safety Award winners:

Group IV (more than 326 employees)

First Place: FRISA Forjados S.A. de C.V. – Garcia Plant 9

Second Place: FRISA Forjados S.A. de C.V. – Superalloys Plant

Third Place: FRISA Forjados S.A. de C.V. – Santa Catarina Plant

Group III (176-325 employees)

First Place: American Axle Manufacturing – Minerva Manufacturing Facility

Second Place: Ellwood Texas Forge Navasota and Bonney Forge

Third Place: BAE Systems and Scot Forge Co. – Spring Grove Division

Group II (81-175 employees)

First Place: Trenton Forging Co.

Second Place: Scot Forge Co. – Clinton Division

Third Place: McInnes Rolled Rings

Group I (up to 80 employees)

First Place: Asahi Forge Group, Ringmasters Manufacturing and Storms Forge – Division of Doncasters

Second Place: Scot Forge Co. – Franklin Park Division

Third Place: Solmet Technologies Inc.

 

Additionally, one facility from each group was recognized with an Improvement Award. These facilities showed the greatest improvement in their DART rates (days away from work, work restrictions and job transfer cases) as compared to their previous three-year averages. Companies recognized with Improvement Awards include Walker Forge Inc. – Clintonville Plant (Group IV), Bonney Forge (Group III), Scot Forge Co. – Clinton Division (Group II) and Keystone Forging Co. (Group I).
