Rolls-Royce will invest almost $600 million to modernize its aerospace manufacturing operations in Indianapolis and conduct technology research. The five-year plan will allow the company to accelerate the introduction of advanced manufacturing methods. The investment, which is the largest by Rolls-Royce in the U.S. since 1995, includes major renovations at two existing facilities in Indianapolis. Upgrades will include new manufacturing and assembly operations. The project will also significantly reduce utility costs for the company. Rolls-Royce produces engines for a wide range of military and commercial aircraft at these sites.
