Forging industry executives and technical experts from around the world recently gathered in Cleveland, Ohio’s new Convention Center for three days of technical papers and exhibits. On April 14-16, 2015, the International Showcase of Forging Technology, organized and presented by the Forging Industry Association, converged on this Lake Erie city to see and hear the latest and greatest of what this industry’s supplier base and technical experts had to offer.

A combined total of about 1,800 attendees, exhibitors, speakers and students attended this event -- 20 percent higher than the previous Forge Fair’s attendance in 2013. The exhibition doors opened at 11am on April 14, by which time all the 160 exhibitors present had their exhibit booths ready for floor traffic. Meals and beverages during the event were served on the exhibit floor and sponsored by major participating companies. This format gave exhibitors and attendees a chance to conduct business over a light meal.

The technical program consisted of 60 technical papers presented in groups of four concurrent tracks. The paper covered the usual range of topics including thermal technologies, press technologies, computer simulations, process controls, metals and alloys, and many others. The technical program started the afternoon of the first day, continued through the second day and ending by midday on the third.

Forge Fair, having now made the transition from a triennial to a biennial event, will again be held at the Cleveland Convention Center on April 4-6, 2017.
