Mississippi Forge (PVF) Inc. announced it will invest $9 million and create 60 new jobs over three years by locating its manufacturing operations in Ackerman, Miss., in a facility that once housed Taylor Forge and most recently contained the Ackerman Forge complex. Mississippi Forge is a producer of steel forged flanges and fittings for use in piping systems. "Our aim in reopening the plant in Ackerman is to provide the North American market with 100% locally produced, high-quality forgings," said Jigar Kadakia, president of Mississippi Forge. The company's Ackerman forge shop is currently equipped with high-production forging presses and will house the machining centers that can deliver high volumes efficiently at extremely competitive rates. The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project to help transport equipment to the facility.
