Viking Forge of Streetsboro, Ohio, recently began an $8 million expansion to its carbon- and alloy-steel forging operations. The expansion will include 114,000 square feet of additional plant space and 77,000 square feet of covered crane-yard storage that will be partially open. The target date for completion is February 2013. The expansion will be a “tremendous help for us and our production process,” said Roger Koeberle, Viking Forge’s general manager. The project is expected to result in 40 additional jobs to supplement the existing 145 full-time employees.
