Jorgensen Forge announced that, after 75 years of operation, it will engage in an orderly wind-down of its business and conclude operations in 2018 at its Tukwila, Wash., facility. The company’s owners purchased the assets of the company out of bankruptcy in 2016. Recent market changes have rendered the business financially unviable, leading to the decision to cease operations. Jorgensen Forge will no longer accept requests for new quotations.
Jorgensen Forge is arranging with its creditors and suppliers to pay them in full in the ordinary course of business, and it is also arranging with current customers for the completion of any work in progress or transition to an alternative supplier. The company is working with state and local workforce resources to transition its employees to new employment.
