Schuler delivered a counterblow hammer with a working capacity of 800 kilojoules for the manufacture of crankshafts to China. It will be the largest counterblow hammer that Schuler has ever delivered to that country. Once installed, the pneumatically driven counterblow hammer will be used to forge large crankshafts for truck, locomotive and ship engines. The Schuler hammer has a total weight of around 650 metric tons and a height of more than 7 meters above ground. Schuler will complete production of the various parts and components in Germany by the middle of next year and assemble the line at the customer’s facility in China. Production launch is scheduled for early 2018.
