Aluminum Precision Products Inc. (APP) of Santa Ana, Calif., is celebrating its 50th year in business. The company was formed in 1965 when its founder, Philip S. Keeler, developed a process called precision forging. This process was developed to eliminate the need for costly machine operations to meet all dimensional requirements while producing accurately shaped, precision-forged parts that still retained the necessary strength, reliability and weight that was required by the emerging aerospace industry. It relied on innovative tool-and-die designs and controlled amounts of pressure, heat and lubricants applied to aluminum and later titanium.

“Our tremendous success during the past 50 years would not have been possible without the excellent performance, proven skill and enduring dedication and loyalty of our employees,” said Greg Keeler, the company’s president and CEO.

APP produces closed-die aluminum and titanium forgings, machined and finished components and assemblies, and aluminum open-die forgings.
