Phoenix Temperature Measurement

A “hot box” temperature profiling system can provide a solution to conducting temperature uniformity surveys and measuring temperature profiles in rotary hearth furnaces. In smaller rotary hearth furnaces, where there is adequate clearance in the charge and discharge doors, a thermal barrier holding a highly accurate data logger can monitor product temperatures via short thermocouples. The system and the products are loaded and retrieved through the charge door of the furnace, and the product temperature data from the trial can be seen in real time and also downloaded from the logger at the end of the process. In larger furnaces, the system can be attached to the product so that thermocouples can be inserted deep into its interior to ensure that the correct temperature is achieved prior to discharge.
