Ohio Star Forge Plans to Expand
Ohio Star Forge (OSF), a supplier of forgings for the automotive and fastener industries, announced a plan to expand its existing facility. OSF, which is a subsidiary of Japanese specialty-steel conglomerate Daido Steel, claims the expansion will create 26 new jobs in its first three years of operation. The Champion plant expansion will include $14 million in machinery and equipment, $3.7 million in building costs, $100,000 in land costs and about $2 million in other expenses.
According to OSF CEO Bill Orbach, “Jobs Ohio, the Trumbull County commissioners, along with the efforts of other state and local entities, made the expansion project more attractive in Champion.” The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved $107,483 in job-creation tax credits for OSF last February.
