Germany’s Schuler Group is considering India as a sourcing hub for forged components used in its manufacturing plants.

Germany’s Schuler Group, a global manufacturer of metal-forming machines, is considering India as a sourcing hub for forged components used in its manufacturing plants. The group has already started sourcing some forged components through its Indian subsidiary, Schuler India Pvt Ltd.

“Indian manufacturers have capabilities to produce high-quality components meeting DIN standard (German quality),” said Markus Ernst, a board member of the Schuler Group. Schuler – itself a producer of forging equipment – supplies a range of products and systems to the global metalworking industry.
