International Crankshaft Inc. (ICI), the U.S. manufacturing and sales base for forged crankshafts of Sumitomo Metal Industries and Sumitomo Corporation Group, recently celebrated its 20th year of operation.

Georgetown, Ky.-based International Crankshaft Inc. (ICI), the U.S. manufacturing and sales base for forged crankshafts of Sumitomo Metal Industries (80% stake) and Sumitomo Corporation Group (20% stake), recently celebrated its 20th year of operation. ICI opened its first production line in 1992 and added a second line in 1996. A third line, which includes a high-speed forging press, was added in 2008 to satisfy demand in North America. ICI plans to manufacture approximately 2 million crankshafts in 2012 and has targeted further expansion and the production of 3 million units in 2015. The plant currently employs 187 people.
