Sheffield Forgemasters created a new company, RD26 Ltd., that
will service the company’s internal work and aim to take on an increasing
volume of external contracts. RD26 Ltd., which is headed by Professor Jesus
Talamantes-Silva and supported by a highly qualified team, frees up the
Research and Development division to offer its services externally. The new
company will also work with visiting PhD students and graduates from U.K.
universities. Dr. Graham Honeyman, chief executive of Sheffield Forgemasters
International Ltd. (SFIL), said: “Research and development is the fastest
growing area of this company and is fundamental to the strategy of the
business. The launch of RD26 marks the next stage in Forgemasters’ growth.” RD26
will continue to provide research and development support for SFIL’s technology
transfer agreements with emerging economies.
