India’s Bharat Forge announced the commissioning of a fully integrated ring-rolling facility at its Centre for Advanced Manufacturing at Baramati. The new facility is equipped with a 4,000-ton blanking press and a radial axial ring-rolling machine, both made by Wagner. The facility is also equipped with modern furnaces and automated with robot manipulators. Products from this facility will primarily serve domestic and foreign wind energy, thermal energy, defense, oil and gas, and bearing industries. The opening of this facility signifies Bharat Forge’s push to diversify away from automotive components.

The facility has the capability to roll rings up to a maximum diameter of 4 meters, maximum height of up to 500 mm and maximum weight of up to 3 tons. Slewing rings, flanges and gear blanks for the wind industry, bearings etc. are some of the products that will be manufactured at this facility
