OMZ-Special Steels to Upgrade Forging Plant

Russia’s OMZ-Special Steels, which is part of the OMZ Group, launched an upgrade of its AKK 6,000-ton forging plant. Modernization of the press will be made in association with a major overhaul of all of the facility’s components and equipment systems. This project is expected to increase the productivity of the forging complex by reducing times for forging cycles, tool change-out and other efficiency improvements. The modernization will cost nearly $3 million and will be completed in June 2012.
