Columbus McKinnon Corp. announced plans to invest $5.5 million to expand its Chattanooga, Tenn., forging and assembly operations, which are also known as Dixie Industries. The company hopes the expansion will add 120 new jobs over the next three years. The Chattanooga facility makes a variety of forged metal products for industrial applications. These products are primarily used for lifting and positioning. The expansion includes the addition of new forging and processing equipment as well as infrastructure improvements such as building modifications and power upgrades.

The Chattanooga Operations include two separate buildings – a forging facility and a facility for welding, assembly and finishing. Dixie Industries also supplies products used in forestry and logging, towing and load securement. Columbus McKinnon Corp. is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of material-handling products.
