The Forging Industry Association's annual Injury and Illness Survey for 2009, with a record number of 88% of eligible companies participating, reports that last year was the safest ever for FIA companies. Results indicate that the forging industry's DART Incidence Rate (days away, job-restricted duty or transfer) was at a record low 3.77 – a 27% reduction from 2008.
