Hand-Tool Manufacturer Orders Induction Billet-Heating System

Inductoheat Inc. designed, manufactured and shipped a Uniforge® induction billet-heating system to a leading manufacturer of hand tools (hammers, wrenches, etc.). This machine was designed specifically for heating carbon-steel billets for a #8 die forger. The system is designed to heat 0.50-inch to 0.875-inch-diameter x 13-inch-long billets to 2250°F at a nominal rate of 250 pieces/hour.

A STATIPOWER® SP12 induction power supply provides 100 kW, 30 kHz for this application. Features and benefits of this system include:
  • Potentiometers for controlling power and feed rate
  • In-feed pinch-roll drive assembly
  • Fast extractor conveyor
  • Stand-alone water system
