Accudyne Engineering and Equipment Co. recently shipped and commissioned a 300-ton and 330-ton California-style vertical ring mill and a 1,000-ton ring sizer. The ring mill was designed to roll rings up to 90 inches in diameter and a face width of 30 inches on a wide variety of alloys including hastalloy, waspalloy and titanium. The equipment was designed with a “quick change” for removing the head bolster plate and king roll assembly for servicing and installing a spare assembly without major disassembly.

The ring sizer, which is a vertical, down-acting, horizontal table-type configuration, was designed to size rings from I.D. ranging from 26 to 85 inches in diameter (with all tooling segments) on rings up to 20 inches high. Accudyne Engineering and Equipment Co. and its parent firm, Wilcox Machine Co., have served the forging industry with standard and custom-engineered machinery, tooling and replacement components since 1954.
