Superior Industries International, a supplier of cast and forged aluminum wheels to automotive manufacturers, announced it will close its Van Nuys, Calif., manufacturing facility by the end of 2009’s second quarter. The company will continue to serve its customers from its remaining five plants in North America and a joint venture in Hungary. Superior said the move, which is an effort to align capacity with lower demand for light vehicles, will eliminate approximately 9% of its total work force.
