Engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro said it is negotiating with Nuclear Power Corporation of India to form a joint venture to produce forged products for nuclear power generation. Larsen & Toubro recently signed an agreement with Westinghouse Electric Co. to build nuclear power plants in the country. India, however, does not produce the type of forgings required for these plants. The new joint venture, if started, would be capable of producing the type of forgings required by the nuclear power-generation industry.
