Bogh Industries LLC has delivered and commissioned a gantry die-heating oven to Ladish Co. of Cudahy, Wis. The oven features reversing airflow and a temperature range of 400-850°F. A significantly faster heat-up rate of the dies was measured during the first day of operation compared to the method currently used. The oven body travels at 60 feet per minute, and parts are loaded directly on an insulated pad by crane. The oven replaces conventional car-bottom die ovens.

The maximum batch load is 300,000 pounds of steel dies loaded on a 34-foot-long x 17-foot-wide pad. Ladish’s input was used in the design to simplify the body lift and gravity-seal system. Bogh Industries is located in Puyallup, Wash.
