Bharat Forge announced the commissioning of India’s largest commercial open-die forging press at its Mundhwa facility in Pune. The 4,000-ton open-die press will produce ingots ranging up to 70 tons and will manufacture highly engineered components for the wind energy, steel, power and gear industries. Some of the parts to be manufactured include shafts, wellheads, pinion shafts and gear blanks. The commissioning marks a significant step for Bharat – the manufacture of critical components for the non-automotive sector.
